Professional microphone technology has not fundamentally changed in decades. The tools that define the sound of cinema were designed in a different era — for different production realities.
SARD was created to address that gap. Drawing on years of practical experience across film sets and post-production facilities, we are developing recording tools that reflect how modern cinema is actually made.
This is not research for its own sake. Every experiment is grounded in the specific demands of location recording, acoustic performance, and long-term reliability in professional production environments.

Project Aurora is SARD's primary development programme — a professional microphone designed specifically for cinematic production sound.
The programme draws on acoustic research, analogue circuit design, and extensive field testing to develop a tool that performs at the highest level under real production conditions.
