Where SyncLab Began
A studio born from Kerala's film industry — and a shared conviction that sound deserves the same rigour as any other filmmaking discipline.
Origin
How SyncLab Came to Be
SyncLab was founded in Thrippunithura, Kochi, by a group of sound professionals who had spent years working across Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi cinema — and who believed the industry deserved better infrastructure.
The founding team brought together backgrounds in physics, sound engineering, filmmaking, and broadcast — trained at FTII Pune, SRFTI Kolkata, and SAE Institute. What united them was not a single discipline, but a shared standard: that every production, regardless of scale, deserves exceptional sound.
SyncLab was built to close that gap — a facility where production sound, post-production, Dolby Atmos mixing, and acoustic research could exist under one roof, serving filmmakers from first day of shoot to final delivery.
How We Work
Science in Service of Cinema
Every member of the SyncLab team began in science before arriving in sound. That background shapes how we approach every project — with measurement, discipline, and an understanding that technical decisions have emotional consequences.
We do not separate the engineer from the artist. The same person who calibrates the monitoring system also makes the creative decisions that shape how an audience experiences a film.
